Firstly, how great is That ’70s Show? If you haven’t watched it then I highly recommend you get a big cup of peppermint tea and get binge watching it on Netflix because it is fabulous. Also, it’s cute watching Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher together as teens #goals (sorry, I promise never to #goals again).
However, this blog post isn’t about the TV show but about ’70s fashion. Personally, I love the ’70s trend (much to my dads despair, he regularly refers to it as ‘the decade that fashion forgot’) as 1. it’s great and 2. mustard coloured everything!!!
It’s not just the clothes either, I have a massive thing for ’70s homeware. I want the lounge in my future house to be decked out in wacky clashing patterns and mustard. There was (I’m not sure if there still is) a corner sofa downstairs in Pop Boutique Manchester that I am in love with. Its patterned, tacky and wonderful. Everything I could possible want in a sofa.
I have a few clothing items that I feel are rather ’70s and that I wear all the time. It’s a trend that is so wearable and that I feel really comfortable in. I never feel self conscious is a ’70s style get up.
On a day to day basis you will find me wearing a lot of stripes or florals with a pinafore or high waist skirt.
Jumper – Urban Outfitters
Skirt – Urban Outfitters
Bag – Topshop
Shirt – Topshop
Pinafore – Asos
Ps. Excuse the room and the teddies (yes I am 21 and still have teddies on my bed. Do not judge me, I know you do too).
Leather look and mustard all in one = dream skirt. Well done Warehouse, well bloody done.
Top – Topshop
Every time I wear this top my mother says ‘you look like a ’70s deckchair‘. Little does she know this is a compliment and the look I was going for.
Dress – Asos
This dress may just be one of my favourite items in my wardrobe I feel like a folk fairy maiden and like Stevie Nicks so what more could I want really?
So there we have it, my favourite ’70s style clothes rolled into one blogpost.
