2015

Seems as this is a new blog and a new year I thought that it would be nice to do my first real post about 2015.

For me 2015 was a cracker. From January to May I was pretty much a hermit glued to my keyboard writing my dissertation. I was approaching the end of my degree and therefore spent all my time revising and doing assignments. However, it all paid off as I got the incredible news at the beginning of summer that I would be graduating university in July with a 2.1 in BA (Hons) Events Management. I was completely made up and couldn’t quite believe that i had bloody gone and done it. All the stress and tears were worth it. The first thing I did when I found out was dance around my room in my pjs to Belinda Carlisle.

Graduation rolled around in the blink of an eye and it was my turn to walk the stage and shake hands with a man who had no clue who I was and vice versa. My main concern was to not fall over as me and heels don’t work well together, we are just not friends okay. I didn’t fall (yay) but one of lectures did say to me after ‘you were had a strong look of concentration on your face when you walked across the stage’.

After graduation I worked my first paid freelance event job at Kendal Calling Festival. I honestly love being on site at festivals. I don’t know what it is about them but I feel so happy working in a muddy field in my wellies. It was a great experience and something I hope to do more of in 2016.

Straight on from Kendal Calling I started work for at a venue finding agency which I am really enjoying. Since starting work I have had the chance to go to London, Cambridge and Leeds to look around some really beautiful venues and I couldn’t feel more lucky. I also went to Barcelona for a convention called IBTM.

Along with all of the above making my year incredible I got to spend time with my best friends and my family. Myself and my best pal went to Krakow for 5 days of vodka drinking and adventuring.

I also saw so many of my favourite artists perform live this year such as Gabrielle Aplin, Lucy Rose, Taylor Swift, The Tallest Man on Earth, Madonna and Joanna Newsom.

Thank you 2015, you were a blast and I cannot wait to see what 2016 brings.
